Botanical name - Solanum indicum
Description - This is Solanum indicum Linn of the family Solanaceae. The roots of Solanum torvum Swart and Solanum incanum willid are also used.
Chemical Constituents- It contains alkaloids solanine and solanidine.
Use - The roots are employed in medicine. The drug is carminative and expectorant and is used in coughs, congestion of chest due asthma or tuberculosis. Also useful in fever dysuria and inchiuria.
