Botanical name - Citrus reticulata

Description - Small bushy trees with small leaves and wingless petiole. Fruit globose, bright orange or scarlet orange when ripe, pulpy, juicy.

 

Chemical Constituents- Leaf contains volatile oil. Peel contains flavones, Beta-sitosterol, limonin, hesperidin, ferulic acid, tangeretin citromitin, 5-O-demethylcitromitin, hesperidin and neohesperidin. Oil contains alpha-pinene, Beta-pinene, camphene, myrcene, 3-carene, alpha-phellandrene, beta-phellandrene, alpha-terpene and D- limonene, dl-limonene, linalool , dl-alpha terpineol, citropten and an aldehyde. Seed oil contains fatty acids - stearic, oleic and palmitic acids
