    Description- A small tree with leaves usually ±1-1.25 cm long, shining above, mostly oblong; flowers 2.5-5 mm long; deciduous tepals in fruit.

    Chemical Constituents- Chemical contents : Essential oil from leaf : leaf yields an oil which resembles cinnamon leaf oil and contains-5-phellandrene and 8% eugenol; Essential oil from bark: contains 70-80% cinnamic aldehyde

    Use - Traditional use : Bark : aromatic, used in gonorrhoea; Leaf: stimulant, carminative, used in rheumatism, colic, diarrhoea and in scorpion sting
