Description - Aquatic herbs with round tuber. Leaves peltate, purplish below, orbicular or reniform. Flowers solitary, deep red to purplish- white. Berry fleshy.

Chemical Constituents-

 

Use - Rhizome demulcent, used in dysentery and dyspepsia. Flowers cardiotonic. Seeds used in cutaneous diseases
